Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any musical experience before enrolling?

Not at all. Many of our Shiners start as complete beginners. Our teachers guide students step by step so they build strong foundations from the very first lesson.

What age can children start music lessons?

Children can begin as early as 5 years old, depending on the instrument and their readiness. We also welcome teens and adult beginners, so it’s never too late to start!

Do you accept adult beginners?

Yes! Many of our adult students are learning music for the first time or returning after many years. Lessons are tailored to your pace and goals.

Can parents sit in during the lesson?

Yes, especially for younger students. Parents are welcome to observe the lesson so they can better support their child’s practice at home.

What instruments can I learn at Musikademy?

We offer lessons in:

Piano / Keyboard

Voice / Singing

Guitar (Acoustic & Bass)

Ukulele

Drums

Songwriting and Music Production

Students can also join bands, performances, and music ministry training.

Do you offer online music lessons?

Yes. We offer live online lessons for students across Australia and overseas. Online classes include real-time feedback, guided practice, and structured lesson plans.

Are online lessons effective?

Yes. Many Shiners progress very well through online lessons. As long as the student has a stable internet connection and their instrument ready, the learning experience remains interactive and effective.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes. We offer small group lessons and band coaching for students who want to learn ensemble skills and perform with others.

Can students perform or join a band?

Yes. Musikademy encourages performance opportunities through:

student showcases

band programs

worship team training

Performance builds confidence and real musical experience.

Our studio is located at:

📍 Suite 2, 27 Forsyth Street, Wagga Wagga NSW Australia

What are your lesson hours?

Lessons are typically held:

Weekdays: afternoon to evening

Saturdays: morning to afternoon

This allows students to attend after school or work.

How long are the lessons?

Lessons typically run 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes, depending on the student’s program and level.

Do I need my own instrument?

We have instruments available at the studio for use during lessons. However, it is ideal for Shiners to have their own instrument at home so they can continue practicing between lessons and build progress more consistently.

How often should students practice?

Consistent practice helps students improve faster. We recommend 10–20 minutes daily for beginners and longer practice sessions as students advance.

Do you offer trial lessons?

Instead of individual trial lessons, we regularly host Open House and Open Day events where families can experience Musikademy firsthand. These sessions allow students and parents to meet our teachers, see how lessons are conducted, and explore the instruments we offer.

We also partner with local schools and community events, giving students opportunities to discover Musikademy through school programs, showcases, and trade-style events.
